Hello James,
I am researching (without success) my late husband’s gt. grandfather, James Spratt who I believe to be the sone of James Spratt and Mary ? of Donegal Ireland.
James married Elizabeth Leake (from Waterford Ireland, definitely) in Sydney Australia in 1940/41 (discrepancy in marriage certificates). The death certificate I have for James (1875) states he was from Liverpool, but I can find no trace of him there. The James I have traced - from Donegal - came to Australia in 1839 on the “Arkwright” which sailed from Liverpool and his immigration papers state he was born in Donegal c1811.
I just found your site by ’surfing’ and wonder if you may have an inkling of this man.
Would love to hear from you, and I love the site.
Cheers,
Denise in Brisbane Australia
p.s. I am going to e.mail that Edmond Spratt of Ireland, who you have listed on your site.
