I know you’re all very different, individual, special people but the word you’re looking for is ‘Ask’, NOT ‘Axe’.

You don’t “axe me a question”, you “ask me a question”. You “axed your friend” did you hmm? I sincerely hope not as that would be dreadfully messy and can get you in a lot of trouble. What you did do however was you “asked your friend”. See, much better, no one gets hurt and no one gets to sound like a cretin.
