Had a dip into archive.org whilst at work today. Started looking at how the Google homepage had (or hadn’t) developed over the years. Noticed how the number of pages indexed bit (that unfortunately they stopped in mid 2005), had increased over time. Then found down a sudden jump in pages:

Nov 12, 2004 - Searching 4,285,199,774 web pages

Nov 13, 2004 - Searching 8,058,044,651 web pages

Had a quick google for why this happenend and couldn’t find anything. Someone enlighten me please.
