First real attempt at skiing, unless 1 day in Cyprus aged 15 counts. Loved it, excellent sport, really must jump at the next opportunity to do the same again.

What we saw of Slovakia – the Low Tatra mountains are really beautiful and so so much snow, so much snow in fact that we missed our return flight home. So I’m now perched on a stairwell where I can get some charge for my laptop (yes, I took it for the music) and surf off a free T-Zone in Bratislava airport. It’s 3am on new year’s eve and we should be in our own beds by now. All of the roads heading into town from whence we came were closed off by about 4pm and our flight was due for 5pm. We tried some back roads which were total white-outs, within minutes we were in snow-drifts and out pushing other people. Extreme weather, so clear to see how easily severe problems can occur.

Note to self however, no holidays with family again. Seriously.
